ISCB was founded in September, 2001, by the Russian Ballet master and world-renowned choreographer, Vera Altunina, who has brought her talent and love of dance to the United States. ISCB offers a variety of programs and levels of instruction to all students from age three through adult. Emphasis is placed on development of self-esteem, coordination and flexibility, musical awareness and appreciation, disciplined training in a highly supportive environment.

ISCB trains aspiring young dancers in a very classical form of dance based on that of the Vaganova Ballet Academy and the performance aesthetic of The Kirov Ballet.

Performance Opportunities

Dance is art, not sport. Dance is about beauty and expression, as well as physical discipline and mental focus. To ensure ISCB dancers develop a well-rounded performing arts ability, students are offered main stage performance opportunities in IBT’s regular performance season. All students at ISCB perform in an End-of-Year Performance.

Professional Division

ISCB’s Professional and Pre-Professional Division offers gifted students exceptional training needed for a professional career in dance with an emphasis in Classical Ballet. Our Professional Division dancers have won International competition at the highest levels, earning them scholarships and apprenticeships at the world’s most prestigious ballet companies.
